Who Can You Trust?

The Los Angeles Times ran an interesting article late last week titled “Blogging for Dollars Raises Questions of Online Ethics.”

The report caught my attention because one of the featured bloggers was being paid to write about “great yacht charter vacations.” Of course, there was a link in her blog to a single yacht charter agency. No doubt that particular agency paid a fee to have this person’s blog feature the link as what seemed like a purely random mention, but that in fact was an advertisement.

You obviously can’t believe everything you read on the Internet (or anywhere else), but we here at CharterWave want you to know that you can trust us. We go out of our way to direct you to as many different, reputable sources of yacht charter information as we can so that you will be educated enough to make your own decisions about which yachts and brokers to choose.

We do accept advertising money, as all online magazines do, but we are diligent in labeling every paid-for page of content as a “sponsored page.” You always know on CharterWave whether you are reading an unbiased editorial feature or a paid-for advertisement, information that we think is critical to provide in exchange for earning your trust as a reader.

We’re only as good as our word, and if you are a regular CharterWave reader, then you know we’ve not let you down for a single day yet. Our About Us section explains our editorial philosophy even further, if you ever need a reminder that we constantly aim to be the world’s most trusted yacht vacation resource.
