It’s High Season in Fiji

I received an e-newsletter this morning from 37 South, a charter agency in New Zealand that works in cooperation with Fraser Yachts Worldwide. The newsletter reminded me that it’s currently the high season in one of my favorite exotic charter destinations: Fiji.

There’s still time to book if you want to enjoy the best annual weather that Fiji has to offer, typically lasting right through the month of November. The top yacht permanently based in the area continues to be the 115-foot motoryacht Surprise, one of the better yachts I’ve been onboard during my years of covering the worldwide charter industry.

There have been reports lately of political unrest in Fiji’s capital, but as is typical, the out-islands have not been affected. When I visited Fiji a few years ago, there were political problems, as well, and we didn’t even notice, we were cruising so far off the beaten course.

If Fiji is one of your dream destinations, now is a terrific time to call a reputable charter broker to book. Take it from me: It’s worth the flight over.
