Sneak Peek at “Dream Cruises”

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Well, I’m back from vacation in Montreal, Canada–where the native language is French and the Wall Street Journal newspaper is hard to find. It’s a shame, because while I was gone, an article ran about yacht charter. I’m still trying to get a copy, but apparently, the story talks about CharterWave.com as well as the forthcoming second edition of my charter book, to be titled Dream Cruises.

In response to the article, my e-mail in-box has a few requests for copies of Dream Cruises. If you’re one of the people looking to buy the book, here’s the scoop:

Dream Cruises is the second edition of my charter book, which was originally titled Have the Whole Boat. You can buy the first edition by clicking here, or you can e-mail me (kim@charterwave.com) to request notification just as soon as the second edition is available. It should be within the next two weeks, from what the publisher tells me.

Here’s a sneak peek at the new cover, which also arrived in my in-box while I was on vacation. As you’ll see, it makes good use of the CharterWave logo as a background:

A Few Days Off

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Well, folks, I’ve posted entries here on the crewed yacht blog every day since CharterWave went online a year ago. I’m granting myself a few days’ reprieve from duty, as my husband and I take a short vacation until early next week.

I’ll see you back here on the blog Wednesday morning the 26th of September.

Wonderful News

Friday, September 21st, 2007

The 73-foot sailing catamaran Wonderful is one of my favorites. She’s been offering charters around the Virgin Islands for the past three years, making an excellent name for herself not only because the yacht is nice, but also because the chef, Elizabeth Lee, continues to win awards at industry-only boat shows.

Now comes some exciting news from Wonderful’s captain, Warren East: He and chef Elizabeth are moving the yacht to a new cruising ground–the stunning Seychelles–where they will offer charters from December through April. I was in the Seychelles just last year onboard the motoryacht Teleost, and I can tell you, it’s one of the most beautiful sun-and-sand destinations for cruising in the world.

Plus, the yacht will be stopping along the way in Turkey, where she’ll undergo some refit work to incorporate a sexy new look: black hull and mast with white and orange sails. Check this out:

So not only will you have a proven crew in a great destination, but you’ll also have a freshly manicured yacht, too boot. That’s quite a combination for charter, one that doesn’t cross my desk every day.

Any reputable charter broker can help you snap up one of the available charter weeks onboard Wonderful in the Seychelles. Her rate will be 36,000 euros per week, plus expenses, for up to eight guests.
