From Our Lips to Royal Ears
Yesterday’s post here on the Editor’s Blog was about a new Special Report on CharterWave that compares the environmental impact of charter yachts vs. cruise ships.
Just 24 hours later, a friend at Camper & Nicholsons International pointed out this article posted today by BBC News–about how Prince Charles and the Dutchess of Cornwall have chosen a yacht charter onboard the 246-foot motoryacht Leander because it will be a more environmentally friendly vacation than the Prince’s last trip to the Caribbean.
We admit, there’s a bit of spin behind that characterization of the Royals’ upcoming getaway onboard a charter yacht whose base price is more than a half-million dollars a week.
But hey, it’s also possible that the Prince is following our lead in showing the public that charter is truly the environmentally friendly choice for cruising vacations.
If you’re reading this, Charles, well done! And enjoy that custom pool onboard Leander. It’s one of our favorites!
