More on Merrill-Stevens
As you read in my post early Saturday, Merrill-Stevens Yachts closed its charter management division in Fort Lauderdale late Friday afternoon. This means that the people who used to work in Fort Lauderdale organizing contracts and other details for charters onboard yachts in the Merrill-Stevens fleet are no longer with the company.
I have been able to clarify today what will happen to the yachts that used to be managed for charter out of the Fort Lauderdale office. Individual yacht owners are being given a choice of having their yachts managed for charter by the Merrill-Stevens office in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, or of moving their yachts to other charter management companies at their own discretion.
A high-ranking source within Merrill-Stevens assured me moments ago that all of the existing charters already booked onboard these yachts will proceed as usual, with oversight from Merrill-Stevens employees who remain with the company.
