Cavendish White Partners with Delta AirElite

Delta AirElite Business Jets, a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, has announced an agreement with British-based charter company Cavendish White to create a “one-stop shop” for aircraft and yacht charter needs.

I spoke today with Toby Maclaurin at Cavendish White’s office in Surrey, who told me: “Essentially, what it means is that the broker you’re talking with can simultaneously quote you a rate for your jet use.”

Since many charter brokers, both inside and outside of Cavendish White, already work to help their yacht clients book private jet travel, I asked Maclaurin what makes this partnership different. Specifically, I asked whether Cavendish White sending business to Delta AirElite would allow special deals on jets.

He stopped short of saying the new agreement would result in cost savings for charter clients, but he did hint that such benefits might indeed be the case.

“They will be the first people that we call,” he said, “and they will know it’s a Cavendish White client calling. They will offer a quote accordingly. It will be much more efficient than having charter clients phone around themselves. We’re also working on adding a free limousine service, with transportation from the client’s home to the jet, and then of course from the jet to their charter yacht.”

Maclaurin said Cavendish White liked the idea of working with Delta AirElite because the company owns about 40 of its aircraft, instead of leasing jets from private owners. That allows more flexibility than other jet fleets, he said.

The jet fleet is primarily based in the United States, he added, with many of the jets having transatlantic range. Initially, Maclaurin expects the service to be of use for Cavendish White clients chartering yachts in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
