Tivoli Offers Summer Discount

One of my favorite expedition-style motoryachts, the 90-foot Tivoli, is offering a $5,000 rate discount as she heads unexpectedly to New England this summer, following a change in the owner’s plans. The discounted rate will be $34,500 for six guests, plus expenses, according to management company Nicholson Yachts.

It’s not unusual for yachts to offer these kinds of discounts when their itineraries change at the last minute, since a lot of charter bookings are done in advance of a given season–under the assumption that a yacht will actually be cruising where the owner has said he plans to be. When an owner changes his plans, he sometimes needs to offer an incentive to get the attention of clients who are considering booking at the last minute.

New England is a good deal this year as a summer destination, given the current dollar-to-euro exchange rate and the continuing high demand for yachts in the Mediterranean. Adding a $5,000 discount to that equation makes Tivoli a yacht worth considering even more than you otherwise might, in my opinion. Because she is an expedition-style build, her exterior looks different than other yachts’, but I always find her interior (including her main saloon, shown in the photo above) to be inviting and comfortable. That’s why she’s one of my favorites in her class.
