A Rare Chance to Learn the ABCs

The folks at Camper & Nicholsons International tell me that the 112-foot motoryacht Symphony II has decided to offer charters where precious few other yachts do: in the Southern Caribbean’s ABC Islands.

That’s Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao–which, as you can see in the map above (courtesy of Maps-of-Mexico.com), is an island group far, far from the typical Northern Caribbean charter bases of Antigua and Sint Maarten. Yes, more and more charter yachts seem to be willing to cruise south to the Grenadines and even Trinidad, but it’s rare to hear of one–especially one of Symphony II’s reputation–cruising southwest to the ABCs.

There have been some crew changes onboard Symphony II since I wrote this First Impression review, but by all accounts the yacht remains in the same good condition that I found her when I was onboard. She will be in the ABCs this summer, which means the time is now to call your reputable charter broker about booking a week onboard.

Symphony II takes eight guests with five crew. Her lowest weekly base rate is $49,500.

And stay tuned: Word is that she’s heading up to Alaska for the summer 2009 season…
