I met this month’s CharterWave Chef of the Month, David Beltran, onboard the 160-foot motoryacht Jo at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show. Not only did he prepare a delicious and beautifully presented luncheon, but he also treated us to a poem–something he does for all of Jo’s charter guests.

My guess is that after meeting Chef David via this three-minute interview, you’ll have just as big a smile on your face as I did after meeting him in person.

Our newest vidcast is of Stephanie Hodges, the chef onboard the 135-foot motoryacht Atlantica. Stephanie also happens to be the CharterWave chef of the month for January, having just won first prize in Atlantica’s division at last month’s Sint Maarten charter yacht show.

Her winning dish was a variation on the surf-and-turf recipe that she cooked up before our cameras in the galley for this vidcast. (I got to eat it, and it was delicious. Believe me, I look forward to the day when they make scratch-and-taste video, so I can show you just how fabulous it really was…)

If ever there’s a day of the year to reflect on what a great party should be like, it’s New Year’s Day. All the hullabaloo from late last night got me to thinking about the yacht hop party that was put on by International Yacht Collection and The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals at the Sint Maarten charter show a few weeks ago.

I’ll tell you, if I were going to throw a New Year’s Eve party onboard a yacht, I’d want it to be with the crews from the boats who hosted this bash down in the islands. They not only know how to get everyone involved in the fun, but they do so while serving some of the best hors d’oeuvres and drinks you’ll find anywhere.
