Carol Kent, who founded Carol Kent Yacht Charters in Massachusetts in 1986, has been named charter professional of the year for 2017.
The International Yacht Brokers Association, based in Florida, made the announcement in early February.
“Carol Kent is that increasingly rare yacht charter broker who maintains and pursues an intimate knowledge of all aspects of yacht charter travel, getting to know a destination so well that every itinerary is customized, every detail is handled, and clients get the best yacht and crew match for their unique vacation,” the IYBA announced. “Kent and her team cover the world from New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, the South Pacific, Central America to the Galapagos and the Alaskan glaciers.”
I’ve personally known Carol Kent for close to 20 years, and have cruised with her on charter yachts numerous times. I’ve always found her to be knowledgable, personable and quick to share answers to any questions I asked. If she works with clients even half as well as she works with journalists like me, then it’s easy to understand why the IYBA honored her with this prestigious award.
