Charter Broker Ed Hamilton | Ed has worked in the charter industry for nearly 40 years. From experience gained as a manager of The Moorings in the early '70s, he started his own successful bareboat company in the British Virgin Islands, eventually running a 50-boat fleet. In this time, he also helped design several successful charter yachts, skippered crewed charters, and taught sailing professionally up to bareboat certification.
In 1982 he started Ed Hamilton & Co., which quickly became the largest independent brokerage selling Caribbean charters worldwide. He had a unique approach, with firsthand knowledge of both suitable boats and cruising grounds, and a genuine desire to learn more about his clients, to ensure they chose the right boat. Together with the team of brokers he has trained, he is well qualified to help clients with any part of their charter vacation. Read more about Ed's history and the founding of the company, or visit our website at www.ed-hamilton.com.
The picture above was taken in 1977 and shows a lanky 29-year-old Ed welcoming the delivery crew of a new Heritage 38 that he helped design for his bareboat fleet. Ed has been in the charter business since the very early days!

Earlier this month (May) we started a 16 day tour of some of the popular yacht charter cruising grounds in the eastern Mediterranean and posted 6 individual blogs as we visited each area. Click here to read this first post. A thorough knowlege of both boat and crew is of course fundamental but being able to describe an area from first hand experience is a big part of our service. We hope you enjoy our comments and will think of us when you start planning your charter. For Facebook enthusiasts, there are far more pictures of our trip on our company page. All pictures on these blogs and the Facebook posts for this trip were taken by Ed Hamilton and may not be copied or used without permission.
