We got word late last week from the crew aboard the 228-foot motoryacht Sherakhan that the yacht has just crossed the equator and is officially en route to Antarctica.
Sherakhan is expected to arrive February 6 in the Falkland Islands to begin her Antarctica charters. She will then be available in South America during early March, followed by charter options in Galapagos, Panama, or the Caribbean after March 15.
The photograph at right is a computer-generated image that Sherakhan‘s managers released the first time she went to Antarctica, back in 2010. Tempting, isn’t it?
I’ve long been a fan of Sherakhan, which I was most recently on board in 2007. She is a fantastic charter yacht for large groups, as she is able to accommodate as many as 26 guests. She offers a spa deck, an impressive two-level dining room, and a sprawling sundeck hot tub for guests to enjoy. The owner is an avid boater who uses Sherakhan regularly and thus invests in quality regular maintenance.
