Churchill Yacht Partners sends word that the classic 63-foot motoryacht Victorian Rose is now taking inquiries for summer charters in New England.
Victorian Rose will be based out of Newport, Rhode Island, taking four guests at a weekly base rate of $14,500.
I was on board Victorian Rose in summer 2009, when I got to meet her owner and learn about the intense restoration project that brought this classic yacht back to life. He stripped her back to bare metal and rebuilt her with new systems and a classic interior decor, drawing on his family’s heritage in the cabinet-making business.
She now has everything from cherry flooring with ebony inlays to a custom helm console and light switch plates. (“If I could have made the switches themselves wood, I would have,” the owner told me at the time.) She also boasts details like air-driven windshield wipers, which were taken from a steam locomotive—just like the ones Burger’s craftsmen originally installed back in the 1960s.
If you’re looking for a classic motoryacht charter that two couples can enjoy in and around Newport this summer, then Victorian Rose might be ideal for you. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week on board.
