10 Best Charter Yacht Toys and Tenders PDF Print E-mail

Broker Missy Johnston at Northrop and Johnson Worldwide Yacht Charters recommends the 197-foot Benetti motoryacht Xanadu for its variety of water toys and tenders: “Whether going ashore in your most elegant best or zipping to the beach for a day of fun in the sun, Xanadu has the tender for you.  For the elegant evening ashore, Xanadu has a custom 7.5-meter Tresco “limousine” tender with a 300-horsepower Volvo and Rolls-Royce water-jet engine, and the sleek look of the bright work Chris-Craft lake cruisers of yesteryear.  For casual gunkholing, beach visits, and fun, Xanadu has a 5-meter Novurania tender. There is no problem using this tender to tow even the biggest water toy onboard, which is a blow-up sofa that seats three.”

The Fort Lauderdale office of Camper & Nicholsons International says the 149-foot Trinity motoryacht Carpe Diem tows a 58-foot sportfishing tender called Carpe Momentum. That’s a huge tender by any measure, with most charter yachts in this size range towing 30-footers (if anything at all…)

Sapphire Seas tells us the 170-foot Feadship motoryacht Time for Us comes with a seven-passenger sea plane. Even better: This Cessna Caravan 208 has its own pilot is included in the yacht’s weekly charter ate.

The team at CSO Yachts says we can’t forget the 164-foot Trinity motoryacht Mine Games, which was the first yacht to offer a submarine to charter guests.

Also from CSO Yachts comes a recommendation for the 211-foot Benetti motoryacht Silver Angel, which offers “a wide selection of cool toys such as a customized 7.5-meter classic mahogany speed boat, two SeaBobs, kiteboard equipment, diving gear for 16 guests, two Jet Skis, and various fishing tackle.”

The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals says: “A tow-behind tender can expand the ‘fun quotient’ of a luxury charter yacht vacation by a factor of five, by taking you fishing, diving, water skiing and wakeboarding, picnicking on a deserted island, and zipping around at breathtaking speeds. Many of the motoryachts in our fleet are available with super-cool tow-behind tenders, some of which are nearly a third of the mother boat’s length. Check out the 118-foot Wanderlust, which tows a 34-footer, the 112-foot Milk Money, which tows a 26-footer, the 112-foot Shear Fantasea, which tows a 32-footer, the 100-foot Cocktails, which tows a 30-footer, and the 100-foot Hooter Patrol IV, which tows a 37-footer.”

CEO Expeditions says the 30-foot tender that accompanies its 120-foot motoryacht Kayana and 100-foot Katania in the San Juan Islands each summer carries more than $9,000 worth of fishing gear, plus downriggers. Now that’s a toy for serious fishermen!

Last but not least this week, Edmiston and Company says three yachts in its fleet fit the “awesome toys and tenders” distinction. First is the 144-foot Feadship motoryacht Kingfisher, which tows a 34-foot tender for water sports and fishing.

Next from Edmiston is the 193-foot Austal motoryacht Outback, which comes with several SeaBob underwater scooters.

Last this week from Edmiston is the 118-foot Benetti Sail Division motoryacht Grand Cru III, which carries a custom-built limousine tender that will let you cruise aboard in style.
