Broker Fiona Maureso at Peter Insull’s says the ultimate romantic charter is aboard the 161-foot Trinity motoryacht Blind Date—whose owners met on a blind date and have decorated the boat with the theme “live, laugh, love.” Maureso adds: “When the table is laid for dinner, there are hundreds of tea lights creating the most beautiful ambience. You can't get much more romantic than that!” The management team at Fraser Yachts Worldwide recommends the 112-foot Nautor’s Swan sailing yacht Highland Breeze: “Picture the scene: Captain Albert navigates to a secluded bay, dropping anchor while the sun sets. Stewardess Ollie arrives with sundowners and nibbles while you enjoy the gentle sway of the ocean, and the sunset with your loved one on the aft deck lounging pads or forward on the bow. The master cabin is prepared with rose petals and a bottle of champagne on ice to enjoy while getting ready for a dinner of crayfish and oysters caught fresh the same day and cooked to perfection by specialist seafood chef Wouter. An ideal romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day.” Broker Liz Howard at Fraser Yachts Worldwide says the master suite aboard the 147-foot Feadship motoryacht Harle is spectacular for couples who want to get lost in privacy and comfort. Broker Vanessa Morlot at Yacht-Zoo recommends the 173-foot Alloy sailing yacht Drumbeat, which is currently available for charter in the South Pacific—where remote islands and rich sunsets create a beautiful backdrop for romance. The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals has two recommendations this week. First is the 88-foot Broward motoryacht Essence, which “has a full-beam master suite that makes you feel as if you’re on a much larger yacht. It features a king-sized bed, iPod dock for romantic tunes, satellite TV, his-and-her heads and even a built-in mini-galley with Keurig coffeemaker, microwave and refrigerator/freezer. You and your loved one will never want to leave the room!” Also this week from The Sacks Group comes a suggestion for the 112-foot Crescent motoryacht Shear Fantasea: “She is spending the winter on the wild, romantic coast of Central America and Mexico.” CharterWave editor Kim Kavin has a few recommendations this week as well. First is the 48-foot Swan sailing yacht Victoria, which is ideal for charter by a single couple who want to spend Valentine’s Day indulging in fine cuisine. Victoria’s chef, Martha Cabada, out-cooked many chefs aboard larger yachts to win first prize in the culinary competition at the 2008 Tortola charter yacht show. Kim’s second recommendation this week is for the 136-foot Ranger, a J-Class sailing yacht built as a replica of historic racing vessels. With this yacht, your Valentine’s Day charter can be about the wind blowing through your hair just as it did in the days of the Rockefellers. Kim also thinks Valentine’s Day would be special aboard the 161-foot Trinity motoryacht Destination Fox Harb’r Too, whose chef, Benoit Mercier, makes liquor-filled, handmade chocolates. They are a world apart from any heart-shaped box of candy with which you might be able to tempt your sweetheart back home. Last on this week’s list of romantic charter yachts for Valentine’s Day is the 100-foot Hargrave motoryacht King Baby. Her owner takes music seriously, so the yacht is outfitted with a top-of-the-line sound system that would be ideal for setting just the right mood. |
