Charter broker Missy Johnson of Northrop and Johnson Worldwide Yacht Charters says: “We love Silolona, the 167-foot Phinisi sailing yacht available for charter in eastern Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Andaman Islands. Silolona is a modern build along the traditional lines of the Indonesian working boat, with deck living spaces and an interior that are pure luxury. There are 17 very well-trained crew onboard, including a part-time masseuse. Wearing their traditional sarongs, the crew ready Silolona for sailing as if out of yesteryear, and then serve the perfect cappuccino.”

The Fort Lauderdale office of Northrop and Johnson has three recommendations this week. First is the 198-foot Feadship motoryacht Blue Moon, which will be available in Mexico and Costa Rica this spring: “In Costa Rica, you can enjoy lovely tropical beaches, the grandest adventures, the wonders of nature, scintillating culture, all the necessary components of an ideal vacation. Or, discover the fascinating world of Mexico. There are several hidden treasures just waiting to be explored: Ancient Aztec pyramids, authentic foods, and fantastic shopping.”

Next this week from Northrop and Johnson is the 122-foot Flagship motoryacht Shogun, available in the Pacific Northwest: “With the backdrop of breathtaking snow-peaked mountains, you can observe the whales as they gracefully maneuver in the water.  Take a tour through the mountains where you get to watch bears catching salmon, or simply watch the seals relaxing in the sun.  And let's not forget about the bald eagles flying overhead.  Shogun’s sundeck makes for a great observation point to take it all in.“

Last this week from Northrop and Johnson is a recommendation for the 161-foot Trinity motoryacht Destination Fox Harb’r Too, which will be in Nova Scotia this summer: “There is nothing else quite like Nova Scotia—the picturesque scenery, the tranquility—yet there is much to do, and much to be seen. Spend a day at the Fox Harb’r Resort, where you could play golf, engage in skeet shooting, or unwind at the spa.”

Charter broker Liz Howard from the San Diego, California, office of Fraser Yachts Worldwide has two suggestions this week. First is the 112-foot Alloy motoryacht VvS1 in the South Pacific: “This well-built motor yacht offers stability and comfort.  Captain Andy Grocott knows the area very well, and they specialize in diving.“

Second this week from Liz Howard is a recommendation for the 158-foot expedition motoryacht Hanse Explorer, which cruises environs as wild as Antarctica: “She circumnavigates the globe annually.  To date, she is the only ice-classed private charter yacht available.”

Charter broker Debra Blackburn from the Fort Lauderdale office of Fraser Yachts Worldwide says: “One of my all-time favorites is the motoryacht Surprise. She is a 115-foot McMullen and Wing. She is ideal for far-reaching destinations, such as her previous home base of Fiji and her current cruising ground in Tahiti. She is a heavy, steel-hulled explorer yacht, but with a luxurious interior that was recently refreshed and looks amazing. Her new crew is very experienced in worldwide travel, so they will be excellent guides for the French Polynesian islands. “

Charter broker Natasha Smekalina of Nemo Yachts suggests the 164-foot Mondomarine expedition yacht Tribu, which is expected to become available for charters next month in French Polynesia’s Tuamotus and Society Islands before relocating to Tonga or Fiji at the end of summer 2010.

The team at Peter Insull’s recommends the 158-foot gentleman’s motoryacht Grace, which is available for charters year-round in the Norwegian fjords.

Edmiston and Company suggests the 124-foot motoryacht Ligaya: “After an extensive refit throughout 2009, she will become available for charter in Southeast Asia and the Maldives from June onwards.”
