CharterWave Goes Multimedia
If you’ve been reading the daily editor’s blog here on CharterWave, then you already know that we’re gearing up to begin offering audio podcasts as well as vidcasts this fall. You can check out our first offering—a simple compilation of charter destination photographs set to music—by clicking here.
Keep an eye on our home page for upcoming links to full-motion video, including interviews with charter brokers and charter yacht crew. We hope to have our first charter feature review available on video for you in the next few months, as well.

Nigel Burgess is Now, Simply, Burgess
The London-based charter company Nigel Burgess is officially changing its name this month to Burgess.
According to the company’s press release, the new, single-word logo reflects the multinational, multidisciplinary, multimillion-dollar shape of the Burgess brand. “In an increasingly complex market, our new logo reflects a forward-looking company that is proud of both its heritage and its ongoing success at the forefront of the fast-paced superyacht industry,” Chief Executive Jonathan Beckett said in the release.
If you’re a regular reader of the daily CharterWave editor’s blog, then you got a sneak peek at the new Burgess logo before anyone else in the world. It will make its public debut at this month’s boat show in Monaco.

We’re Scouting for You in Thailand
CharterWave editor Kim Kavin is hitting the air and sea again this month, bound for the 172-foot motoryacht Taipan III off the coast of Thailand. While there for a few days, she’ll also check out the sistership Taipan IV, a 63-foot motoryacht that is also available for charters.
Keep an eye on Kim’s blog, where she hopes to report daily from Phuket and its nearby cruising grounds. She’ll post a full review of Taipan III just as soon as possible after her return, and she hopes to collect enough video while onboard for CharterWave’s first charter destination vidcast. Stay tuned.

AYCA Now Accepting Affiliate Members
The American Yacht Charter Association, one of the world’s four leading professional organizations for charter brokers, has added a new level of membership.
AYCA previously welcomed only those brokers who had at least seven years’ worth of charter experience. Now, through the new “affiliate member” category, AYCA will also welcome charter brokers with at least four years’ worth of charter experience.
You can verify that your charter broker is a member of AYCA by reviewing the group’s membership roster at www.ayca.net.

YachtZoo Opens for Business
The brand-new charter company YachtZoo is hosting its debut party at this month’s luxury yacht show in Monaco.
YachtZoo was founded by four longtime members of the yachting business, including charter broker Kirsten Ringsing, who spent years as a leading broker of top-dollar yachts for a prominent charter agency. She has traveled many times with CharterWave editor Kim Kavin, who is always impressed with Kirsten’s industry knowledge, discretion, and personal travel experience.
You can learn more about the company at its website, which is due to be up and running any day now.

CharterWave Connects Readers with Brokers
We here at CharterWave were just thrilled to read this blog post from sponsor Regency Yacht Vacations, which connected with a first-time charter client within two weeks of beginning its advertising campaign on CharterWave.
We’re also happy to report that charter brokers from several major companies have reported meeting new clients or re-connecting with former clients through CharterWave. We’ve gotten reports of success from Fraser Yachts Worldwide in California, Merrill-Stevens Yachts in Florida, Burgess in Florida, Rikki Davis Yachts at Churchill Yacht Partners in Rhode Island, Ed Hamilton & Company in Maine, and—all the way down in New Zealand—Sail Connections.
If you know of a charter broker, yacht, or company that might want to join this list and support our efforts, please direct them to our online media kit. The posted advertising rates are good through the end of this year.

Dream Cruises to Debut This Month
CharterWave editor Kim Kavin’s book Have the Whole Boat is scheduled for release as a second edition at the end of this month. It will feature the new title Dream Cruises: The Insider’s Guide to Private Yacht Vacations.
The book’s content is updated, as is the cover—which should be coming back from the publisher’s design department any day. Keep an eye on Kim’s blog for a first look.
Also look for the book to be mentioned this month in the Wall Street Journal, as well as on radio shows across the United States where Kim will be doing interviews. Her first—on the California-based program “The Good Life”—is already pre-recorded and due to air September 15.
