As you read this, I am on a plane bound from New York to Florida for the 50th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. As you can see from the photograph above (which is of last year's sprawling show), I'm going to have more than a few boats to get onboard and tell you about in the days to come. Two that I'm particularly excited about are making their debuts as they enter the charter industry fresh from the shipyards. The 151-foot Delta motoryacht Katya will be part of the Ocean Independence charter fleet, taking 12 guests with nine crew at a lowest weekly base rate of $161,000. She is scheduled to move into the Caribbean market this winter, when many charter brokers will see her for the first time. I'm fortunate to have a tour lined up with the captain first thing tomorrow morning, and I hope to have some juicy, exclusive details posted for you as soon as tomorrow night. The other new launch that I'm on pins and needles to see is the 161-foot Trinity motoryacht Blind Date II. You might remember my mentioning her in this post from a year ago, when interior designer Patrick Knowles released computer-generated renderings so life-like that they almost looked like actual photographs of the yacht. Like the previous Blind Date (a 135-foot Lurssen motoryacht), the new launch will be managed for charter by Peter Insull's. I expect to get onboard Saturday morning. Stay tuned here to the CharterWave Daily Editor's Blog for my daily reports from the Fort Lauderdale show, as well as to the CharterWave feed on Twitter for news bits and updates.
