Sunseeker Offers "Long Weekend" Rates PDF Print E-mail

charter yacht Lady TSunseeker Charters is employing an interesting marketing strategy for several of its yachts based in the South of France during this winter's "off-season" in the Mediterranean. Instead of offering discounts on weekly base rates to drum up business, the way some other management companies are, Sunskeer Charters is promoting "long-weekend getaways."

Now, technically speaking, every crewed yacht is available for long-weekend charters. The boats are advertised as having weekly base rates for seven-day charters, but negotiations go on all the time by clients who want, say, a three-day charter at a fraction of the original rate. Even still, companies keep the weekly base rates first and foremost in their marketing campaigns, hoping to entice clients to actually book the full week.

That's why the new promotion from U.K.-based Sunseeker Charters caught my attention. It specifically lists several yachts that are available for long-weekend charters in the South of France, including the 72-foot Sunseeker Predator Lady T, which is shown in the photograph above. Her long-weekend base rate for six guests with two crew is £9,750.

Also available in the same area are the 86-foot Sunseeker Yacht Tambora, at a long-weekend base rate of £21,500 for eight guests with four crew, and the 90-foot Sunseeker Yacht Fire and Ice, at a long-weekend base rate of £22,500 for eight guests with four crew.

Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about these yachts in particular, or about the options for booking long-weekend charters elsewhere this winter.
