On Monday, I wrote this blog post about Ed Hamilton & Co. taking a serious look at Facebook for people interested in communicating about charter. Today, another one of my sponsors, BoatBookings.com, has announced the creation of an iPhone app designed for people thinking about charter in the French Riviera. It's the first smart-phone application I've seen created in conjunction with the charter industry. According to the description in the iTunes store, the new iRiviera app is "an essential pocket guide to the French Riviera, from Monaco to St. Tropez." It lets you network with other visitors to the Cote d'Azur before, during, and after your stay, and lets you seek reviews of shops, hotels, charter yachts, markets, and more. The iRiviera app, which is available for free, comes in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. How fantastic to see these well-known charter agencies taking the lead in harnessing new technology and communications methods for the benefit of charter clients. I can't wait to see what they come up with next! Comments (2)
