2012 Genoa Charter Yacht Show: Day Four PDF Print E-mail

table lampsLet's play a little game.

I've been noticing table lamps all week while touring yachts at the 2012 MYBA Charter Show in Genoa, Italy. This is not something that has caught my attention in the past. I think this year is different because some of the table lamps I've seen really say a lot about the charter yachts they're onboard. They are memorable in and of themselves, and they really give you some insight into the owner's personality.

Check out these four table lamps that I saw onboard charter yachts this week, and then check your own gut instinct on whether you'd want to charter the yacht that each is aboard.

Totally different vibes, right? And trust me when I tell you that each lamp really does match the overall ambience of the yacht that it's on.

Clockwise from top left, these lamps are onboard the 140-foot CRN motoryacht Emotion, the 196-foot CRN motoryacht Darlings Danama, the 163-foot ISA motoryacht Liberty, and the 169-foot Alloy sailing yacht Prana.

I was told that the lamp on Darlings Danama is the same as one in the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. And no, I don't know how they got the rocks to float in that lamp aboard Liberty.

Burgess Yachts represents Emotion for charter. Darlings Danama is in the Camper and Nicholsons International fleet. Liberty charters through YPI Group, while Prana is with Fraser Yachts Worldwide.

Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about any of these yachts or help you book a week onboard this summer. They also can send you full brochures of each yacht's interior so you can see just how true-to-form these lamps are.

More from the docks in Genoa tomorrow, which is the final day of this year's show.
