Nicholson Yachts tells me that the 61-foot Gulfstream sailing yacht Sudiki has just completed some improvements that are intended to enhance the charter experience onboard.
First, the owner-operators added a new deck box for shoes and snorkeling gear. This means that as soon as the yacht anchors, while the crew are still running around, guests can grab their fins and masks and hop right into the water without having to lift any hatches or access any stowage areas.
Next, the owner-operators re-rigged much of Sudiki's running rigging, which allowed the removal of four deck winches. This means there is less sailing gear and fewer lines cluttering the deck, so there is more clear space and a further open feeling for charter guests to enjoy as they sit in the cockpit (shown in the photograph at right).
Inside, a new, teak office area includes all kinds of books about reefs, fish, cruising areas, and more. Guests are welcome to use any of these books at any time. Also inside is new upholstery in the main salon as well as new linens in the two guest cabins.
Sudiki has, for the most part, kept her weekly base rates intact throughout the recession, which means she remains just as good a deal today as she was a few years ago. I was last onboard Sudiki in late 2009, and the rates have gone up only a few hundred dollars since then. For two guests, the weekly rate that includes meals and ship's bar is now $6,800. For four guests, it's $8.900. A honeymoon special is also available.
Sudiki is expected to be open for charters in the Grenadines well through this fall. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week onboard.
