charter yacht Platinum gold pantherOne of the motoryachts that I toured earlier this month at the MYBA Charter Show in Italy was the 164-foot Benetti Platinum. Though she is currently being advertised for charters this summer in the Mediterranean, I got the scoop from a Burgess Yachts representative onboard that Platinum will be offered for the winter 2012-13 charters season in the Indian Ocean and Gulf region, including Dubai.

Platinum is a 2009 build that was originally known as Alibella and was owned by the man who now owns the 203-foot Benetti motoryacht Bistango (also for charter in the Burgess fleet). The current owner of Platinum left much of the original interior decor, which includes gold leaf details and ornate interior furnishings.

Two of my favorite details onboard were the Faberge napkin rings on the dining room table and the 24-carat-gold panther with Swarovski crystal eyes, collar, and leash. It stands as if keeping guard in the main salon, just to the right of where guests enter from the aft deck.

Also worth noting is that Platinum's crew of 11 includes not just a masseuse, but also a sports therapist. That's another thing I haven't seen on any other charter yacht (much like the gold panther).

The lowest weekly base rate to charter Platinum is €189,000 for 12 guests. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week onboard either in the Mediterranean this summer or in the Dubai region this winter.
