It's a shame, because Bermuda is a great place for a getaway--especially if you enjoy golf. I was there a few years ago as a guest of friends who own a golf-resort timeshare, and the golfers in our party had the time of their lives. Those of us who don't find it fun to chase a white ball around the grass all day had plenty to keep us busy in the form of shopping, restaurants, and bars. Bermuda also offers some nice coral-reef snorkeling, shipwreck scuba diving, and fishing. All of which is why I'm excited to see Peter Kehoe & Associates announcing a chance for clients to experience Bermuda aboard a proper charter yacht. The owner of the 157-foot Christensen motoryacht Top Five is considering moving the yacht there next month, if there is charter interest. The weekly base rate to charter Top Five in Bermuda next month would be $190,000 for 12 guests. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Top Five or help you place an inquiry to book a week in this unusual charter destination.

Bermuda is a destination that you'd think offers a lot of yacht charter vacations because, well, it's an island within easy flying distance of the U.S. East Coast. In fact, though, it's rare to see a proper charter yacht advertised in Bermuda. The island is simply too far away from the primary cruising hubs in the Caribbean and Virgin Islands, so most owners don't even consider sending their yachts there.
