charter yacht Beyond CapricornThere is more news this week from Ocean Independence, which tells me that the 78-foot Nordhavn motoryacht Beyond Capricorn has Christmas and New Year's availability in New Zealand, at the heart of the region's annual summer season.

Beyond Capricorn has a crew who have completed three seasons of charter in Tahiti and the South Pacific. They are now moving into New Zealand's Bay of Islands, which is an absolute playground for water sports and beautiful views. I chartered onboard the motoryacht Askari in the Bay of Islands a number of years ago, and I recall the area not only as stunning, but also as great for both cruising and staying ashore. It's a location that offers a number of superb resorts if you want to, say, spend a week on land acclimating to the time zone before stepping aboard the yacht for your holiday charter.

Beyond Capricorn is a 2007 build that accommodates eight guests with three crew. She has a cruising speed of 9 knots, which, as with most Nordhavns, makes her fuel efficient compared with other motoryachts.

The lowest weekly base rate to charter Beyond Capricorn in New Zealand is $35,000. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week onboard.
