You may recognize the brand name Triton from the precious few charter yachts that have offered submersibles as part of luxury vacation experiences in recent years. The first charter yacht to offer a submersible was the 164-foot Trinity Mine Games, whose owner purchased a Triton a few years ago and kept it onboard for charter guests to enjoy. More recently, the 208-foot expedition motoryacht SuRi announced that she will have a Triton submersible available this coming winter for charters in Antarctica.

Now comes word from Triton that submersibles can be added to any charter yacht experience, anywhere in the world. Later this month at the 2012 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Triton will be formally announcing its new luxury submarine charter service, called Triton Submarine Charters. There are currently two submersibles that can be delivered anywhere worldwide for charters aboard yachts whose owners want to offer the experience as part of a charter package.

“The addition of a submersible can turn any yacht charter into the adventure of a lifetime," says Marc Deppe, Triton's vice president of marketing. "For those charterers who have a passion for the ocean, the addition of a submersible is a total game changer. Imagine a vacation where every day you visit places and see things that no person has ever seen before. Having a Triton onboard will make this a reality."

No rates for submersible charter were included in the announcement. Triton says it currently has more requests than it can handle, and that several more submersibles will need to be added to the charter fleet for all the yachts that have expressed interest.
