Following up on this morning's blog post, I just received additional images and information about the New Year's Eve swells on St. Barth's from a charter yacht client who was there, and who asked that I identify him only as Heston. He writes: “My family and I have been coming to St. Barth’s for New Year's for about six years, and we have not ever seen it like this. The streets had water everywhere. Some boats appeared to be having difficulty with landing the tenders. It was certainly strange not seeing any boats in the harbor. We were told that the president of St. Barth’s gave direct authority to ban Jet Skis for the days leading up to New Year’s, as the traffic was very heavy and the seas were too rough.
