Free Diving with Pacific Wave PDF Print E-mail

charter yacht Pacific WaveCapt. Lynn Griffiths and her partner, award-winning chef Mark Miles, dropped me an e-mail this week from aboard the 72-foot custom sailing yacht Pacific Wave to announce a pricing discount as well as a new option for 2010: free scuba diving.

First, the discount. If you book a charter before July 31 and schedule your charter dates to begin before December 31, then you can take $1,500 off the yacht's regular weekly base rates. For two guests, the rate becomes $14,500 versus $16,000. For four guests, it's $15,500 instead of $17,000, and for six guests, it's $16,500 versus $18,000.

A significant note on those discounts: They include the holiday weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day, when rates are typically raised above the regular weekly base rates on all charter yachts.

Second, the scuba diving. Griffiths tells me that she is working in conjunction with UBS Dive Centre, which she calls "the only exclusively private diving service in the British Virgin Islands," to offer free scuba diving during charters aboard Pacific Wave. Guests can choose a pair of two-tank, half-day dives for three people, or a single two-tank, half-day dive for six people. You get to dive as a private group from boats that rendezvous with Pacific Wave wherever she is anchored in the BVI. The value of the offer is $700.

Pacific Wave is in the Virgin Islands through June. She will spend July through October in the Grenadines before returning to the Virgin Islands in November.

Nicholson Yachts is the management company. Any reputable charter broker can help you take advantage of these newly announced special offers.
