We announced a couple of days ago the amazing announcement by a company in the Pacific NW to enjoy a "FREE" charter. The announcement said that the base charter fee was being waived and that you could enjoy the magnificent San Juan Islands by paying just the expenses of $3,950 per day - $27,650 per week - aboard the 120' Kayana' accomodating 12 guests.
Yesterday, however, the company started back pedaling when they sent out an email saying that this rate was only good for SIX guests. That 'additional' guests would be charged $450 per person per day - or - another $2,700 per day if there are 12 guests in your party (that's nearly 70% MORE than what was announced).
Additionally - they stated that the charters BEGIN at 2:00 PM on Sunday and END at Noon on Saturday. There is nothing about that that equals seven days. As all of us in the charter industry know, a 'day' is a 24 hour period. Their 'seven days' are even two hours short of six days.
Finally there are three days of cruising included in your 'week'. Additional days are charged at $1,950 per day. You may not need or want additional cruising days as there are many adventures from where the yacht will be docked - but it is something you should know when planning a trip.
So bottom line, if you want to go to the San Juan Islands - this may still be an option for you - but the charter details are not quite as attractive as originally presented.
As always, check with your charter professional before booking your charter.
