Ocean Independence tells me the 171-foot Feadship motoryacht Gravitas is dropping her weekly base rate to $195,000 for charters this summer in Florida and the Bahamas.
That’s a 15-percent savings compared with the usual weekly base rate of $230,000 to charter Gravitas.
Gravitas, which previously was known as Battered Bull, is a 1995 build that completed a substantial refit for her new owner in late 2013 and early 2014.There is now an “apartment-style” master suite on the main deck along with six guest cabins on the bottom deck. Privately, Gravitas could accommodate 18 guests. She takes 12 for charter, and the other berths are available for supernumeraries such as security guards, nannies and other staff.
Even better, in my opinion, is that Gravitas has a crew led by longtime charter Capt. Roy Hodges. I’ve cruised several times over the years with Hodges on other motoryachts that he’s run, and he is among my favorite professionals in the industry. He runs a safe ship and a fun charter program, and the crew he selects and trains never fail to impress me. Most recently, chef JP Barcena wowed charter brokers with a luncheon at the late 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Gravitas or help you book her this summer in Florida or the Bahamas at the newly announced incentive rate.
