Edmiston sends word that the classic 164-foot motoryacht Malahne is dropping her weekly base rate by €25,000 for charters June 1-25 in France and Italy.
Malahne originally launched in 1937. She was built for William Lawrence Stephenson, who helped found F.W. Woolworth & Co. in Britain. He was an avid yachtsman who also commissioned the build of Velsheda, a J-Class sailing yacht that launched in 1933. Malahne later was owned by Hollywood film producer Sam Spiegel, who was involved in On the Waterfront, The Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia. Spiegel regularly entertained celebrities on board, including Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly.
The current owner of Malahne completed a 30-month restoration at the renowned Pendennis facility in 2015. The shipyard’s craftsmen brought the classic motoryacht back to her original Art Deco styling by working with Savile Row interior design firm Oliver Laws.
Any reputable charter broker can tell you more about Malahne or help you book her in France or Italy this June at the incentive rate. With the €25,000 price break, her weekly base rate is €120,000 for as many as 10 guests.
