"I am here in Antigua at the Antigua Yacht Show. The weather is ideal with blue skies and balmy trade winds gently blowing just enough to caress the tops of the palm trees in English Harbor. The show started 2 days ago and so far it seems very slow. Many popular yachts and their crew are still available for the holidays and each day there are new "Holiday Charter Reductions" in my email Inboxes for www.swc-yachtcharters.com and www.shannonwebster.com. There are crew walking around the Dockyard, Antigua Yacht Club and Falmouth Harbour Marina in hopes of finding work but the chances appear to be very limited. We are holding a Memorial Service tomorrow for Andreas Liveras, the mega-yacht owner who was shot to death in Mumbai, India last week during the terrorist attacks there. Such a tragedy as he was so involved in the yaqchting industry and employed so many crew. We are hopeful that his 2 60m-80m yachts will continue to charter. Well, I am afraid that's it for now. I must get out and hit the docks. I am taking my camera with me today so perhaps I can upload some pictures later to share. Shannon"
