"We are an industry of travelers. Who could have thought that we would wake up on Thanksgiving Day in America and be mourning the loss of one of our own people? It certainly put a damper on my day. The yacht industry world was rocked recently by the senseless murder of one of Yachting's most well-known and loved icon's, Andreas Liveras. Andreas was warm, loving and generous, always entertaining and happy to share his wealth with others. I will miss him at our charter shows and his ever present and genuinely "happy to see you smile". He was a truly unique and special man and a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. Andreas had gone to the Taj Mahal Hotel for a meal because he had heard that they had the best curry in Mumbai. Just after being seated they heard the bombings start and hid under the dining room table. Later, after being locked in a room with around 1000 other people, he was able to call his family and BBC news in London on his cell phone.
