Ocean Independence says the 115-foot New Zealand Yachts powercatamaran Spirit is offering itineraries in the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea—destinations that are rarely offered for charter, let alone aboard such a luxurious powercat.
I was aboard Spirit about a year ago on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, where I reported this article for Yachting magazine. The yacht is looking fantastic, and the owner has made serious investments in crew and gear for serious sportfishing and scuba diving.
The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea are said to have some incredible, remote diving and fishing spots, so Spirit should fit right in. The owner is an adventurous cruiser, too, so the captain and crew are well used to providing a luxury experience even in the most remote anchorages.
The lowest weekly base rate is $90,000 to charter Spirit in the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Any reputable charter broker can tell you more or help you book a week on board.
