Yacht Sea Walker

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Last week I attended a meeting in the charming New England port of Newport. Though I know I am fortunate to be able to live in the Virgin Islands it is still nice to be able to get back to civilization once in a while!  It was a busy week but I still got my bowl of clam chowder and I was able to meet up with one of my favorite yachts, Sea Walker; a 61 foot monohull which will take up to 4 people.

Richard and Eden Clay have been on Sea Walker for a number of years.  They chartered in the Virgin Islands for the first few years but have now been chartering in St. Martin during the winter and in New England in the summer.

Richard is from New Zealand and has been sailing since he was only 8 years old!  He has an impressive sailing background having sailed over 55,000 sea miles in the South Pacific, Caribbean and along the East Coast of the United States.  You can definitely feel safe in his care.

Eden hails from Connecticut, loves to sail, and is a professionally trained Chef that owned her own food styling and catering business in New York City before she began chartering with her husband.  She attended the prestigious French Culinary Institute in New York where she received her “Grande Diplome” in classic French cooking.

This summer Sea Walker is sailing to Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard, and plans to head “Down East” to Maine in August.  She is a perfect romantic getaway for 2 or a fun family vacation for 4.

New Yacht to Regency Charter Services

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

As listed in the profile about Regency, we are not only a charter brokerage but a yacht sales brokerage and also have over 22 charter yachts that we manage.  Earlier this month we were lucky enough to have a beautiful 52 foot monohull named Blithe Spirit join our fleet.

Michel and Dominique started their lives together with a quaint bed and breakfast in Quebec, Canada. This experience is evident in their gift of hospitality and their wealth of knowledge of French cuisine. This is the perfect yacht for any person who considers themselves a “foodie.”  As a self proclaimed “foodie” myself, the vast menu of delicacies (such as Morocco rack of lamb and straw potato cake, Wild mushroom torte and curry sauce, or Goat cheese and hot pepper pastries) was enough for me to hear before I knew I would love Blithe Spirit and her wonderful owners.

The best thing about Blithe Spirit is that it proves that you don’t have to spend the most money to have the most luxurious vacation. You can spend a week sailing the Caribbean with a fun, experienced crew who serve you better than a 5 star restaurant can - all for only $5,800.

Now… what wine do you serve with Moroccan lamb?

Mediterranean Yacht Review

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

It’s always wonderful for a broker to receive good feedback from a client.  It helps us to know which yachts are suited for which people and which crews go the extra mile to please their guests.  Plus it’s just a great feeling to have a happy customer!
So, I must say it made my morning to receive a wonderful review from some guests that have just returned from a charter on Yacht Matina sailing the Greek Islands.

Hi Kathleen,

back home after a few days in Santorini

Yacht was great, the crew were great and the Chef was unbelievable.  His meals were by far better then any restaurant we ate at anywhere in Greece.

All of the trip logistics worked out perfectly.

we’d be glad to be a reference for you or the Matina if needed or if anyone wants a testimonial

I’m sure we will be booking another one!

thanks again

Peter

Regency Yachts first blog!

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

It has been very exciting to get started on Charterwave.  There are still so many people who are unaware of what a wonderful vacation crewed yacht chartering offers and Charterwave is a great venue to show off what we all have known for years.

Living in the Virgin Islands has exposed me to many varieties of yachts and crews, and I pride myself on being able to match anyone with the perfect yacht for their tastes.  I attend at least two yacht shows each year in the Virgin Islands. Plus now that business is growing in the Mediterranean, I attend one or two yacht shows there each year.   The charter business is always changing - new yachts, new destinations, more variety - and I do all that I can to keep myself changing with it, all while drawing from my years of experience.  I am very pleased to add Regency to this venue and to keep on moving and changing with the business!
